Announcement posted on : 9/1/2022
Asalamu Alaykum Brothers and sisters,
The Masjid is open for the daily prayers and for the Jumua Khutbah and prayer.
Assalamu-Alaikum Brothers and Sisters,
The United Muslim Masjid is going to open its doors on 6/3/2020 for fard (required) salats during phase 1 on a limited availability due to taking precautions in fighting Covid19. The Masjid would open 10 minutes before Iqamah and close immediately after Fard salat. The Masjid would also open for short Jumuah khutbah followed by prayer. The Masjid would open 15 minutes before Jumua Khutbah, which would start at 1:15 pm. Admission is based on first come first served since we are going to have to observe social distancing and only a limited number would be allowed inside the building. Late comers can pray in the parking lot. The following rules must be followed:
- You must wear face mask to enter the Masjid. No mask—-no entry.
- You must have wudu to enter the Masjid. The wudu area in the Masjid will be closed. Also, you must bring your own prayer rug.
- The Masjid door will open 15 minutes before the Khutbah begins.
- You must stay in your car or in the parking lot until the Masjid door is opened.
- You must enter one at a time without crowding at the entrance.
- Because of social distancing, you have to sit at the marked spot and maintain 6 feet between you and congregation members.
- You must vacate the Masjid immediately after the Fard prayer. Sunnah prayers should be offered at home. People should leave in an orderly manner, starting with back rows.
Follow up-to-date CDC guidelines for safety.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE SICK (or running high temperature/coughing), PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE MASJID.
The UMM would like to inform you that Ramadan begins at Maghrib time on Thursday, April 23, 2020, and InshaAllah the first day of fasting is Friday April 24, 2020.
Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Masjid building is closed and there will be no congregational prayers and Taraweeh prayers in the Masjid. Therefore, all of us are going to perform our daily prayers (salat) at home, including Taraweeh. The first Taraweeh prayers are on Thursday night, April 23, 2020.
Bear in mind that you are not alone and that your community is with you. We are inshallah going to spend this blessed month of Ramadan together and we are going to share our Ramadan programs throughout the month through our UMMCT Youtube TV channel and the Masjid Facebook page. Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “When a group of people assemble for the remembrance of Allah, the angels surround them (with their wings), (Allah’s) mercy envelops them, Sakinah, or tranquillity descends upon them and Allah makes a mention of them before those who are near Him.” (Muslim).
Asalamu Alaykum Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In the light of the state of emergency due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the decision has been made to close the Masjid for Jumua (until further notice). Also the Sunday School activities and congregational salat are cancelled until further notice.
